Basketball Recap: Paxon School for Advanced Studies Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Charlotte Young and Caelyn Carter

After flying high against KIPP Bold City last Wednesday, Paxon School For Advanced Studies came back down to earth. The Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Ribault Trojans an easy 65-42 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Golden Eagles have suffered against the Trojans since January 23, 2021.

Caelyn Carter and Charlotte Young certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Carter went 6 of 11 en route to 15 points and five rebounds, while Young posted nine points. The matchup was Carter's third in a row with at least ten points.

Ribault was led to victory by Terrannya Medlock and Trinity Berry. Medlock almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards, while Berry went 6 of 13 on her way to 21 points. Medlock is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Destiny Donaldson, who had ten points and six rebounds.

With the defeat, Paxon School For Advanced Studies broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-3. As for Ribault, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Paxon School For Advanced Studies wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-45 win against Stanton on the 18th. As for Ribault, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-34 victory against Ridgeview on the 19th.
