Sunrise Mountain has gone a perfect 10-0 against Ironwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Eagles at 3:45 p.m. Sunrise Mountain is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
Last Thursday, Sunrise Mountain sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 victory over Horizon.

Dominick Santalucia was excellent, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Murphy, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ironwood). They blew past North 20-0 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the game before.
Sebastian Rodriguez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Rodriguez was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Ironwood is undefeated when Rodriguez posts two or more runs, but 1-12 otherwise.
In other batting news, Lane Stilwell was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Joshua McCormick, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 1-for-2.
Ironwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Sunrise Mountain's record is now 14-9. As for Ironwood, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-12.
Sunrise Mountain skirted past Ironwood 4-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
