The Axtell Longhorns scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 62-48 victory over Abbott. The victory was just what Axtell needed coming off of a 52-32 loss in their prior game.
Leading Axtell to victory were Cole Tindle and Levi Leathers. Tindle scored 18 points, while Leathers scored 25 points. That's the first time this season that Tindle scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Coldyn Horn, who scored five points.
Axtell's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. As for Abbott, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Axtell will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dawson at 12:30 p.m. on December 30th. Abbott will be home for the holidays to greet Blum at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Blum comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
