Marlington moved up to 142 from 227 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Northeastern Buckeye. The Dukes climbed the ranks as a result of topping Aquinas 30-0.
Minerva was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Lions defeated Canton Central Catholic 42-28.
Canton South's dynamic duo of Josh Lyon and DJ Wilson proved to be unstoppable against John F. Kennedy, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lyon threw for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns and Wilson had 65 yards receiving. Kahlil Coleman helped Canton South's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 34 yards.
The Wildcats' dynamic duo of Lyon and Wilson proved tough for the Fighting Eagles to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Adontis Watson made the biggest impact on defense this week as Alliance lost to Ellet. The 6-foot-0 senior.
Parrish Martin was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 109 yards on 17 carries as the Aviators defeated John F. Kennedy. Demitri Lott also contributed to the rushing game with 46 yards on the ground.
Lyon put up the best numbers through the air as Moe Daniska's team defeated the Fighting Eagles.
Wilson was the best receiver in Northeastern Buckeye this week as the Wildcats defeated John F. Kennedy.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Canton South's Lyon and Wilson have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Lyon has thrown for 648 yards this season, while Wilson has 7 catches for 198 yards. Alliance's Martin leads the league in rushing yards with 307.
The Wildcats are in first place, while Carrollton is in sixth place.
Mike Schott's team fell to the Orangemen 41-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Martin threw for 60 yards in the loss.
