Northside - Jacksonville and West Carteret are an even 3-3 against one another since August of 2015, but not for long. The Monarchs will head out to take on the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northside - Jacksonville is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
While Northside - Jacksonville's win against Croatan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Monarchs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 30-28 victory over the Cougars on Friday.

RAHLAI ANDERSON had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 186 yards and two scores. Those 186 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. REGINALD GRAY was another key player, throwing for 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northside - Jacksonville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 260 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, West Carteret's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a 48-14 loss at the hands of Havelock. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.
Northside - Jacksonville will need to focus on slowing down Dallas Riggan, one of several West Carteret players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 100 receiving yards and one TD. D'Jabrien Murray also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.
Northside - Jacksonville's record now sits at 5-1. As for West Carteret, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Northside - Jacksonville has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 171 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like West Carteret struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 155.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Northside - Jacksonville suffered a grim 21-0 defeat to West Carteret in their previous matchup back in April of 2021. Can the Monarchs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
