The Ragsdale Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight defeat. They fell just short of Page by a score of 41-38. Ragsdale was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Page to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hattie Sloyan, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Sloyan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lola Vanore, who scored six points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Ragsdale has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Page, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-12.
Ragsdale's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Whirlies at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. The timing is sure in Grimsley's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Tigers have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Page will take on the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Western Guilford is ranked 311th, while the Pirates are ranked 332nd).
