On Wednesday, the West Seneca East Trojans's game was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 49-32 victory over Lackawanna. That result was just more of the same for these two, as West Seneca East also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
West Seneca East's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Melanie Marcezin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sima Alfaqih, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds.
West Seneca East's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Lackawanna, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Seneca East will face off against West Seneca West at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lackawanna, they will head out on the road to face off against McKinley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
