Northwest Cabarrus is 9-1 against South Rowan since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans will be playing at home against the South Rowan Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Northwest Cabarrus is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Rowan in North Carolina (Northwest Cabarrus is ranked 207th, while South Rowan is ranked 586th).
Last Tuesday, Northwest Cabarrus earned a 52-42 win over West Rowan.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwest Cabarrus to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Gonder, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anderson Lee, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to South Rowan, who are still winless after their 13th match. They took a serious blow against Carson on Tuesday, falling 78-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat South Rowan has suffered since December 5, 2023.
Northwest Cabarrus' victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for South Rowan, their defeat was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-13.
Everything came up roses for Northwest Cabarrus against South Rowan in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 85-36 victory. Will Northwest Cabarrus repeat their success, or does South Rowan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
