The Southern Reynolds Whippets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Westwood Baptist Academy on the road and fell 65-31. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Southern Reynolds has scored all season.
James Hawley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Westwood Baptist Academy, scoring 30 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. The contest was Hawley's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ben Jones, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Southern Reynolds' defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-5. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern Reynolds will be home for the holidays to greet Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 258 points over their last four matchups. Westwood Baptist Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bismarck at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
