Basketball Recap: Bunnell Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Bunnell won the last time they faced Newtown and things went their way on Monday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Nighthawks 68-42. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

The victory (which was Bunnell's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for Newtown, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Bunnell won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against New Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newtown, they will head out to challenge Notre Dame Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Nighthawks will need to watch out since the Lancers have now posted at least 55 points in their last 15 games.
