Breckan Maran Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Breckan Maran produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Fairfield to the win on Friday. Maran rushed for 244 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.6 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (108.3). Those 244 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Churubusco had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Maran it was a similar story. When Maran last faced the Eagles back in October of 2023, he rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.

Hawk Hasselman Goes Supernova in Angola Win
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Hawk Hasselman stepped things up a notch to give Angola the 'W'. Hasselman turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 162 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 63 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
For the season, Hasselman has averaged 53.2 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after nine games last season, he was only averaging 5.44 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 97.56 rushing yards.

Big Game from Metzger As Fairfield Won 42-18
Another Fairfield player making an appearance on this list is Blake Metzger. He rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and also picked up 31 receiving yards and a touchdown. He didn't just play on offense: he also made ten total tackles and defended a pass.
Unfortunately for Churubusco, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Metzger. Metzger rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry the last time he and the Eagles duked it out back in October of 2023.
