Isaac Loboda was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Donahue Catholic: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jack Kadlec, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Donahue Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .824. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Immokalee owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They blew past East Lee County 7-0.
Aiden Puente was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Adrian Ramirez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Pablo Alfaro also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Immokalee has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. Donahue Catholic now has a winning record of 4-3.
Immokalee's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Donahue Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .457. It's a different story for Immokalee, though, as they've only averaged .216. Will they be able to contain Donahue Catholic's hitters?
Donahue Catholic might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Immokalee when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can Donahue Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
