While Costa Mesa didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 25-12 win over the Fairmont Prep Huskies on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on four straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Costa Mesa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Freeland, who threw for 290 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 65 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Freeland has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times she's played. Costa Mesa's leading receiver Kassandra Ramirez was Freeland's top target yet again, picking up 170 receiving yards and one score.

Costa Mesa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Emi Kamikihara.

Costa Mesa's win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Costa Mesa has already played their next contest, a 37-0 victory against Los Amigos on the 3rd. As for Fairmont Prep, they will face off against Tesoro at 12:40 p.m. on Saturday.
