Pine is 0-3 against Doyle since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pine Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Doyle Tigers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pine has five straight victories, Doyle has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Pine has not done well against Springfield recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Pine sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-44 win over Springfield.
Meanwhile, Doyle was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 56-50 to Pope John Paul II. That's two games in a row now that Doyle has lost by exactly six points.
Pine's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Doyle, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-5.
Pine might still be hurting after the 66-43 defeat they got from Doyle in their previous matchup back in November of 2015. Can Pine avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
