It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Spotswood had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Waynesboro Little Giants. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trailblazers have posted since May 16, 2024.

Ty Howard looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrew O'Brian, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Blank, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Spotswood is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Waynesboro, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13-1.

Spotswood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-4 victory against Turner Ashby on the 3rd. Waynesboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
