There's no place like home for the Eupora Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 61-52 win over Bruce on Tuesday. This was payback for Eupora, who suffered a 68-48 loss the last time these two teams met.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashton Pierce, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. The contest was Pierce's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ankavious Glass, who scored eight points.
Eupora pushed their record up to 6-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Bruce, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Eupora will head out on the road to face off against Ethel at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Ethel is ranked 243rd, while Eupora is ranked 232nd). Bruce and Wheeler will round out the year against one another at 11:30 a.m. on December 28th at.
