They really took it to Lake City Community for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-19 victory at home. The victory was some much needed relief for Antonito as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Antonito's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jesus Madril led the charge by scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Madril has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jasiah Jiron, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Antonito's win ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10. As for Lake City Community, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Antonito will square off against Liberty Tree Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Liberty Tree Academy is ranked 320th, while Antonito is ranked 341st). Lake City Community will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Antonito at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
