Compass Academy was led to victory by Braxton Morris and Christian Davalos. Morris gained 160 total yards, while Davalos rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Davalos was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. Ryan Farris was another key contributor, gaining 25 total yards and two touchdowns.
Tornillo's loss was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 2.0 points per game. As for Compass Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Tornillo will head out on the road to face off against Wall at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wall knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Tornillo likes a good challenge. As for Compass Academy, they will face off against Early at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The pair might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games.
