The Basis Independent Silicon Valley Bobcats had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against San Jose by a score of 62-53 on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Basis Independent Silicon Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Robert Ji, who scored 25 points along with 6 steals and 5 assists. Justin Wang was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with 3 blocks.
Basis Independent Silicon Valley's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for San Jose, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Basis Independent Silicon Valley will take on Monta Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Monta Vista knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Basis Independent Silicon Valley likes a good challenge. As for San Jose, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
