The Globe Tigers will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Benjamin Franklin Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Globe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 300th, while Benjamin Franklin is ranked 149th).
Globe struggled with assists on Monday (Payson had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Globe lost to Payson at home by a decisive 65-47 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Globe in their matchups with Payson: they've now lost three in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Josiah Cutter, who scored 18 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonas Dillon, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though San Tan Foothills scored an imposing 55 points on Monday, Benjamin Franklin still came out on top. Benjamin Franklin strolled past San Tan Foothills with points to spare, taking the game 69-55.
Benjamin Franklin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyle Mott, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Mott is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Wright, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.

Wednesday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Globe have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 34.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Benjamin Franklin struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 35.1 rebounds per game. Given Globe's sizeable advantage in that area, Benjamin Franklin will need to find a way to close that gap.
Globe took a serious blow against Benjamin Franklin in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 81-45. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Benjamin Franklin's Talan Speir, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. Now that Globe knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
