Basketball Game Preview: Ash Fork Spartans vs. Rough Rock Sun Devils

The Ash Fork Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Rough Rock Sun Devils at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ash Fork is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season.

Ash Fork took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 51-29 margin over Williams. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Ash Fork found their leader in sophomore Isabella Acosta, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Acosta has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Crystal Nixon, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

Ash Fork smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rough Rock). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 63-33 win over Seligman. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Sun Devils considering their 19-point performance the matchup before.

Rough Rock's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Ash Fork, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Everything came up roses for Ash Fork against Rough Rock when the teams last played back in February, as the squad secured a 58-10 victory. In that game, the Spartans amassed a halftime lead of 32-2, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
