Ben Lomond is 3-0 against Rockwell since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Ben Lomond Scots will get right back to it and host the Rockwell Marshals at 7:00 p.m. Ben Lomond is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season.
Ben Lomond is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Green Canyon on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ben Lomond took a blow against Green Canyon, falling 78-48. The match marked the Scots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Bryan Campos, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deshawn Holland, who posted ten points.
Meanwhile, Rockwell lost to Draper APA on the road by a 69-53 margin on Wednesday. The Marshals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Loss or not, Rockwell got some senior leadership from Devon Jessop and Kaysen Rife. Jessop went 8 of 11 on his way to 19 points in addition to six boards and five steals, while Rife went 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rife has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elias Sekona, who put up eight points.
Rockwell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Ben Lomond, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Ben Lomond hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 59.1 points per game. However, it's not like Rockwell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 60.9 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Everything came up roses for Ben Lomond against Rockwell in their previous meeting back in December of 2016, as the squad secured a 69-34 win. Will Ben Lomond repeat their success, or does Rockwell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
