Eldred had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 15-7 margin over the Monticello Panthers on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Yellowjackets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Mason Tice, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Peyton Brischler, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Coming up, Eldred will venture away from home to face off against Sullivan West at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Monticello, they will welcome Port Jervis at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
