The Cole Cougars had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They took down Incarnate Word Academy 66-50. Given Cole's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Incarnate Word Academy is ranked 658th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cole's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ajian Hasadinratana, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of James Livingston, who scored 17 points along with nine assists.
Cole's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Incarnate Word Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
Cole will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Victoria East at 8:30 a.m. on December 28th. Incarnate Word Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against King at 1:00 p.m. on December 28th.
