Alex Nicholson Delivers Best Effort of Season
Fort Bragg was led to victory by Alex Nicholson, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Nicholson rushed for 251 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 66 receiving yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
Unfortunately for Upper Lake, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Nicholson. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Nicholson saw the Cougars), he rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 64 yards and a touchdown.

A Season-Best Performance from Brock Barrick Leads Kelseyville over Willits
On Friday, Kelseyville got the W thanks in part to Brock Barrick playing the best football he has all season. Barrick rushed for 165 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. He didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended a pass.
The victory (which was Kelseyville's fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. They and Lower Lake are set to duel on Friday.

Kelseyville Gets a Boost from Dejohn in 20-17 Victory
Keeping Barrick company is Michael Dejohn, a fellow Kelseyville player. He rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 118 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Dejohn is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Lower Lake on Friday. When Dejohn last faced the Trojans back in October of 2023, he rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns.

While Willits might've come up empty on Friday, Kolbe Bufardeci wasn't going down without a fight. Despite the defeat, Bufardeci was still balling out as he made ten total tackles. He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 50 yards.
Willits moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. Bufardeci and Willits are on the road again on Friday to play Clear Lake at 7:00 p.m.

Corey Rockey Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Corey Rockey posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He threw for 167 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 39 yards.
For the year, Rockey has thrown 15 touchdowns while averaging 191.8 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he was only averaging 14.85 passer rating per game. This year he is averaging 101.71 passer rating.
