Football Game Preview: Calvary Day Cavaliers vs. Long County Blue Tide + How To Watch

Calvary Day has gone a perfect 3-0 against Long County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Calvary Day came up short against Jenkins and fell 41-33. The loss was the Cavaliers' first of the season.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Calvary Day, adding 13 points to the final score. All came from Grady Shiver: he went 4-for-4 kicking field goals for 12 points and added another on an extra point kick.

Long County's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Liberty County last Friday. The Blue Tide pulled ahead with a 22-21 photo finish over Beach. The 22-point effort marked the Blue Tide's lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Calvary Day better keep an eye on Jehmiel Pettis. He was instrumental in Long County's win, rushing for 79 yards and two scores on only ten carries. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Pettis a new career-high.

Long County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 298 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 186 rushing yards in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Long County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Wesley Williams and Jason Familia.

Long County's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Calvary Day, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 4-1.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Calvary Day has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Long County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 318.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Everything came up roses for Calvary Day against Long County in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 41-7 victory. Do the Cavaliers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Tide turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
