Meanwhile, Pendleton unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They suffered a tough 14-2 defeat at the hands of Woodmont. Pendleton was red-hot at the plate headed into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matches prior) but Woodmont's pitchers proved too tough.
Taylor Beak was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with a home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Jennings, who went 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI.
Easley's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Pendleton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6-1.
Easley was able to grind out a solid victory over Pendleton in their previous meeting back in March, winning 7-3. Will Easley repeat their success, or does Pendleton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
