Strom Thurmond is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Saluda is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Rebels will host the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Strom Thurmond is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Strom Thurmond's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against American Leadership Academy by a score of 4-0.
The result came thanks to Emmy Mckie's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Olivia Grant was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson Harrison, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Saluda got the win against Andrew Jackson on Wednesday by a conclusive 8-0. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Miller Martin was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Martin was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Saluda let Jayme Sheaffer and Nyla Jordan run wild. Sheaffer went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Jordan went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was Jordan's first of the season.
Saluda's victory bumped their record up to 15-3-1. As for Strom Thurmond, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Strom Thurmond has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Saluda struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Strom Thurmond suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Saluda when the teams last played back in March. Will the Rebels have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
