The Bethany Christian Bruins had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They took down Prairie Heights 47-33. That's another feather in the cap for Bethany Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Bethany Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyson Chupp, who scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals. Chupp has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Miller, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Despite the defeat, Prairie Heights saw an underclassman step up: Leo Hare scored three points along with five assists and five rebounds. Messiah Johnson-solis was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Bethany Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Prairie Heights, they bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.
Bethany Christian will take on Hamilton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hamilton has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2. As for Prairie Heights, they will head out on the road to take on Whitko at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Whitko focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
