The Dillon Wildcats entered their tilt with the Lake View Wild Gators with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Dillon snuck past Lake View with a 43-37 victory on Tuesday. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Dillon did.
Dillon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Treasure Davis, who scored 15 points along with four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least 25% of Dillon's points. Khwnylahi Mckinnon was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds.
Defeat or not, Lake View got some senior leadership from Jaleya Ford who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and three steals and Gwendasia Page who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. The match was Ford's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ta'Kiyah Waters, who scored two points along with nine rebounds.
Dillon pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Lake View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-4.
Dillon will head out on the road to face off against Lake View at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Lake View is ranked 61st, while Dillon is ranked 74th). As for Lake View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dillon at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Dillon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
