Luke Adams was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Conifer's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 5-10 when he doesn't). Dillon Tracy was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Standley Lake hadn't done well against Green Mountain recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Gators came out on top against the Rams by a score of 8-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gators.
Chris Blanco and Titus Schrecengost made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Blanco tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Schrecengost tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. At bat, Blanco went 4-for-5 with one home run and three RBI, while Schrecengost went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Blanco has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Carter Casias was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Marc Garcia, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
The win got Standley Lake back to even at 8-8. As for Conifer, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Conifer couldn't quite get it done against Standley Lake in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 4-1. Can the Lobos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
