The Wicomico Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell to Pocomoke 71-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Pocomoke's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zymiere Walker, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Michael Ames, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds.
Wicomico bumped their record down to 4-4 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Pocomoke, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Wicomico won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Crisfield on January 5th. As for Pocomoke, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mardela at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Mardela is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
