It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Headland Rams had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 30-20 victory over Holtville. The win was nothing new for Headland as they're now sitting on three straight.
Jaxon Williams was on fire: he rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 110 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. CALEB DOZIER also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Headland's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. The heavy lifting was done by PAIT GRANT and DOZIER who racked up four sacks between them.
Headland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Holtville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Headland will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against UMS-Wright Prep at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Holtville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
