Baseball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Enterprise's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Enterprise had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Water Canyon Wildcats as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Eric Phelps made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Aiden Emmett was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Clayton Bowler was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Enterprise hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Enterprise is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Water Canyon, their loss was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17.

Enterprise wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 4-3 win against Gunnison Valley on the 3rd. As for Water Canyon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 20-0 defeat against Parowan on the 3rd.
