The Summit Academy Eagles came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Jay with a 53-48 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Summit Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sariah Gammon, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Gammon has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Chloe Freeman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Summit Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. As for Jay, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Summit Academy will head out on the road to square off against East New York Family Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. East New York Family Academy is coming into the match with four straight victories at home, so Summit Academy is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Jay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
