McMahon is 0-10 against Danbury since April of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Senators will venture away from home to take on the Hatters at 4:00 p.m. McMahon has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
McMahon is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They lost 14-0 to Trumbull.
McMahon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexa Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.
While Danbury didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They never let Westhill get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Wednesday. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Hatters this season.
Jacqueline Marks made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Danbury let Chloe Trimandilis and Sophie O'Connell run wild. Trimandilis went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while O'Connell went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Trimandilis has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of T'Aira Walters, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Danbury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The win was the third in a row for Danbury, bringing their record up to 8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for McMahon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. McMahon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Danbury struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
McMahon might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Danbury in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Senators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
