Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Evangelical Christian

Evangelical Christian waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Bishop Verot Vikings as they made off with a 55-34 victory. The Sentinels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Evangelical Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nalah Smith, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Smith has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Kellisia Grant was another key player, going 6 for 13 on her way to 17 points.

Evangelical Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 17 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caroline Ward, who posted 18 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron O'Halloran, who had 12 points.
