The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Carnegie Schools-Riverside takes on Silver Valley in the first playoff game of the year. Silver Valley will need to watch out since Carnegie Schools-Riverside has posted big point totals in its previous four matchups.
Carnegie Schools-Riverside won two weeks ago against Sherman Indian 42 - 6, and it decided to stick to that point total again. The final score between Carnegie Schools-Riverside and California School for the Deaf-Riverside last week was a 42 - 0 blowout in Carnegie Schools-Riverside's favor. Carnegie Schools-Riverside had two big standouts, as sophomore Joseph Green earned one touchdown and 86 yards rushing the ball, while sophomore Ethan Lamontagne finished up with 94 yards passing and two rushing touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Silver Valley can now show off six landslide victories after its most recent game. It breezed past Excelsior Charter last week with a final score of 35 - 14. With four TDs, senior Eteru (ej) Ane was a significant factor in the success. This also marked the 8th consecutive game in which Ane rushed for 100+ yards.
Their wins bumped Carnegie Schools-Riverside to 9-1 and Silver Valley to 6-3. With both Silver Valley and Carnegie Schools-Riverside swaggering in after impressive performances, check back on MaxPreps to find out which team will step up to teach the other some humility.
