It was a good run, but the Valley View Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Temescal Canyon 50-45. While losing is never fun, Valley View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while Temescal Canyon is ranked 175th).
Despite the loss, Valley View saw an underclassman step up: Charles Knight scored 16 points along with three steals and two blocks. Knight has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalyn Talbert, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds.
Valley View's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 12-10. As for Temescal Canyon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley View will challenge Moreno Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Temescal Canyon, they will head out on the road to challenge Elsinore at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
