Clovis West is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Clovis a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Clovis West Golden Eagles will host the Clovis Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Clovis West will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Clovis West turned things around against Buchanan on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Eagles have posted against the Bears since April 21, 2023.

Aliya Swillis was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk). Swillis was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alexys Busch, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Madelyn Johnston was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Clovis East hit Clovis with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars lost 11-1 to the Timberwolves.
Clovis' defeat dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Clovis West, their victory bumped their record up to 18-8.
