Basketball Game Preview: Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes vs. West Ashley Wildcats

The Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes will square off against the West Ashley Wildcats at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Ashley Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69 points per game this season.

Ashley Ridge is headed into Friday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-54 heartbreaker at the hands of Pinewood Prep.

Ashley Ridge's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Clayton Everett Jr, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 boards, and Pj Brown, who went 7 of 9 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds. Everett Jr is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Even though they lost, Ashley Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, West Ashley waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Warriors 78-43. That 35 point margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Ashley Ridge's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for West Ashley, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Ashley Ridge couldn't quite finish off West Ashley in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 and fell 54-51. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of West Ashley's Kendell Mack, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 20 points.
