After a string of seven wins dating back to last season, the North Branch Broncos's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Powers Catholic on the road and fell 69-22. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points North Branch has scored all season.
It was another big night for Javontae Ross, who scored 22 points along with four steals for Powers Catholic. The game was Ross' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Dempsey Cull was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
North Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Powers Catholic, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Branch will be home for the holidays to greet Clio at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clio will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 648th, while North Branch is ranked 192nd). As for Powers Catholic, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Corunna at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd.
