Basketball Recap: Olympia Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Tanisha Carter and Ava Pazos

Olympia was the 51-40 winner over Lake Brantley when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Olympia Titans came up short against the Lake Brantley Patriots on Thursday, falling 51-27. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olympia's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ava Pazos, who posted 11 points along with seven steals and six assists, and Tanisha Carter, who scored eight points in addition to 11 steals and eight boards. Pazos is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 18 games she's played dating back to last season. Tahge Lowe also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Lake Brantley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maddie Woodrow led the charge by putting up 18 points. Another player making a difference was Alana Taylor, who had 13 points.

Olympia's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Lake Brantley, their record now sits at an identical 4-11.

Olympia has already played their next game (against Calvary Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lake Brantley will head out on the road to challenge Pine Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Brantley is facing Pine Ridge at the right time seeing as Pine Ridge is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
