Softball Recap: Red Bank Catholic Wins Going Away Against Southern Regional

Red Bank Catholic won the last time they faced Southern Regional and things went their way on Monday too. The Caseys were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Rams. The Caseys might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

Mackenna Savage was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Savage was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nicole Knox, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayden Kane, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Red Bank Catholic's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Southern Regional, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-7 record.

Looking ahead, Red Bank Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Cedar Grove at 6:30 p.m. on the 20th. As for Southern Regional, they will welcome Middletown North at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
