It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Canutillo Eagles ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They snuck past Andress with a 47-41 victory. The win was just what Canutillo needed coming off of a 62-23 loss in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Canutillo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Faith Folkner, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Folkner has scored at least 25% of Canutillo's points. Mia Lopez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists.
Canutillo's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Andress, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-13.
Canutillo will stay at home for another game and welcome Chapin at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Chapin is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Andress, they will take on Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17.
