Softball Recap: Harlem's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Harlem dropped their record down to 19-8 on Monday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost 11-0 to the Belvidere North Blue Thunder. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Huskies' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Belvidere North, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-9. The result was nothing new for the Blue Thunder, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Belvidere North's part, Paige Johnson and Miley Dobbs did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run, while Dobbs went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Johnson has posted since back in May of 2024.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Harlem is set to square off against their familiar foe Guilford at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Belvidere North will take on rival Freeport at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
