The biggest upset of the week belonged to Rancho Buena Vista, who took down 261st ranked Escondido, 36-34.
The Longhorns moved up to 315 from 518 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Avocado - East. Rancho Buena Vista climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Cougars 36-34.
Escondido's Mitch Bartram and JC Hernandez have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Bartram has thrown for 320 yards this season, while Hernandez, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has eight catches for 239 yards. Paul Gomes' team's Daviante Sayles leads the league in rushing yards with 1164.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Longhorns take on San Pasqual. Rancho Buena Vista's offense has scored 194 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Golden Eagles have allowed only 104 on the year.
A big matchup in Avocado - East this week will be when the Longhorns take on San Pasqual. As it stands, Rancho Buena Vista is in third, while Tony Corley's team is in second.
The Longhorns led the league in scoring this week after putting up 36 points on Steve Bridges' team.
