Baseball Recap: Midland Has No Trouble Against Bradford

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Midland and Bradford, and Midland kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs blew past the Eagles 14-0 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 15 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cody Hart made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those home runs marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, Jace Adams was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Hayden Jackson was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Midland has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Bradford, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-6.
