The Santa Rosa Lions will face off against the Raton Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Santa Rosa is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Santa Rosa and Tucumcari, and Santa Rosa kept the tradition alive. The Lions put the hurt on the Rattlers with a sharp 14-4 win on Tuesday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Maddox Lucero made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Lucero was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

In other batting news, Santa Rosa got a massive performance out of Andrew Urban, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Urban a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sean Bonney, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Raton unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 22-10 to Robertson.
Azden Romero was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Raton is 5-2 when Romero posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Brayden Decker was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Santa Rosa pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 17.2 runs this season. As for Raton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
