The Emerald Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. Their rough 57-33 loss to Strom Thurmond might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Emerald has scored all season.
Strom Thurmond's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quan Edmond led the charge by scoring ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. Roosevelt Walker was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Emerald's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-5. As for Strom Thurmond, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Emerald will be home for the holidays to greet Mid-Carolina at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mid-Carolina focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Wednesday. As for Strom Thurmond, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Aiken at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Aiken is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
